An HVAC zoning system has three main components: a thermostat or sensor (per each area), a central zoning control board, and the dampers in the ductwork. The zoning control board first operates by receiving a signal from the thermostat which then sends a signal to the correlating damper in the ductwork to regulate and redirect conditioned air to that specific area, or zone, of the home.
