An HVAC zoning system allows you to individually control the temperature in pre-determined areas of your home. This is beneficial for lowering energy consumption by only heating and cooling the areas of the home which are used the most, sometimes up to 35% in savings, or setting temperatures in areas of the home that demand lower temperatures such as a home office, home theater, or gym. Additionally, everyone in the home can set the temperature to that which is favorable to them, while in different areas of the home, as everyone's comfort level is different. Zion Custom Air can custom design the zoning system that is the perfect fit for your home and comfort needs.
IS AN HVAC ZONING SYSTEM RIGHT FOR YOU?
SOME INDICATORS THAT A ZONING SYSTEM MAY BENEFIT YOUR HOME AND FAMILY:
Some rooms, levels, or spaces in your home gets hotter or colder than others
You have a multi-story or lengthy single-story home
You have rooms or areas that are not used frequently
There are family members in your home that have different temperature needs than the rest
HOW A ZONING CONTROL SYSTEM WORKS
An HVAC zoning system has three main components: a thermostat or sensor (per each area), a central zoning control board, and the dampers in the ductwork. The zoning control board first operates by receiving a signal from the thermostat which then sends a signal to the correlating damper in the ductwork to regulate and redirect conditioned air to that specific area, or zone, of the home. This system allows you to customize the temperature controls throughout your home for maximum comfort and efficiency.
